
Pieces of Hope x Kaiku
Pieces of Hope is a two-day event that combines an exhibition, talks, and live music. The event covers the themes of mental health, creativity, and nightlife and the multifaceted relationship between them. Showcased at the iconic nightclub Kaiku in the middle of Kallio district.
The exhibition consists of nine unique posters on the aforementioned themes created by invited artists. Each poster has a limited edition of 25 pieces.
Posters are for sale at the price of 110 € on the Helsinki Design Week website (during 5.–11.9.2022) and at the event in Kaiku (8.–9.9.2022). 30 € of the profits will be donated to the mental health organisation Mieli Ry., 70 € will go to the artist and 10 € is to cover the cost of printing.

The opening ceremony will be held on Thursday 8.9. consisting of a talk on mental health and creativity with the artists, hosted by Caroline Suinner. After the talk, we will hear a concert by the Helsinki-based ambient artist Aho. The concert will be recorded.
Friday’s talk in Kaiku will be focused on the themes of nightlife and creativity. Helsinki Design Week’s Anni Korkman will host the talk and the participants are: Joni Stanley of Post Bar, interior designer Joanna Laajisto, graphic designer Leo Karhunen and the former “night pilot” of the city of Helsinki Salla Vallius.
HDW in Kammari
After the talk, Kaiku will host the official after-party of the Open Studios event. Starred by DJ’s Joshi, Carlina Carpelan, emkay, Jaakko Rintala and VJ Uwubeibi.
