
TASTE - Shaken & Stirred: Cocktails and Bespoke Design
HogoHuone participates in design week by opening its doors to cocktail and design enthusiasts as a new special cocktail bar.
”Hogo” comes from the French word ”haut-gôut” [Fin. high flavor] Originally used to refer to the hard-to-describe earthy “funky” smell of hanging salted game meat. Today, the word is used to describe the rich aroma of rum’s ripe fruits.
The custom-made interior of HogoHuonee permanently displays the work of Kulmapala’s designers. During Helsinki Design Week, the space will feature a selected collection of works by visiting artists and designers related to taste experiences. The works will hang from Shaker-style decorative trees and ask the viewer to interpret taste through color, aesthetics or function.
The event also features a special, interactive cocktail menu. Its purpose is to spark conversation in the intimate setting of the bar, which provides an age-old traditional setting for surprising Encounters
