Dr Jan Kattein, DipArch, MArch, PhD, FIPM is a writer, lecturer and a registered architect in the UK and the Netherlands. Jan is founding director of Jan Kattein Architects and author of ‘The Architecture Chronicle: Diary of an Architectural Practice’ and ‘Londoners making London: Transforming Neighbourhoods’.
His practice is recognized internationally as a leading placemaking and participatory design practices with award-winning projects that are celebrated for their spatial- and civic accomplishments. To address environmental and social challenges, JKA have developed pioneering solutions that embrace circularity through their design, construction and legacy. Jan will present a selection of public projects and speak about his expanded understanding of the role of the architect.
The event is kicked off with an introduction by Päivi Raivio (RaivioBumann, Parkly). Jan will join us virtually from London and there will be time for Q&A at the end.
The talk is part of events celebrating the 10th anniversary of RaivioBumann studio’s practice in urban design, placemaking, and public art.
