Keskuskadulla on Helsinki Design Weekin ajan Weeklyn Festivaalikeskus
Helsinki Design Weekin ajaksi 6.-16.9.2018 rakentuu Keskuskadulle Weeklyn Festivaalikeskus. Katso tapaamispaikalla päivittäin vaihtuva ohjelma.
Festivaalikeskus on Helsinki Design Weekly –median ilmenemismuoto ja sen yhteydessä tapahtuu kaikenlaista weeklymäistä.
Festivaalikeskuksessa voi tutustua paitsi Weeklyn tekijöihin, myös Helsinki Design Awards –finalisteihin, ostaa lippuja PechaKucha Nightiin ja kuulla parhaat vinkit festivaaliohjelmasta.
Näyttelyn ja infopisteen lisäksi keskukseen rakentuu Design Delivered –lounaan noutopaikka, jossa kokkina toimii Kozeen Shiwan.
Festivaalikeskuksessa on vaihtuvaa päivittäistä ohjelmaa. Luvassa on mm. lounasluentoja (aina klo 12), töiden jälkeinen keskustelutilaisuus (aina klo 17) sekä menovinkkejä ja merkityksellisiä kohtaamisia. Kaikki keskustelut käydään englanniksi, ellei toisin mainita. Jokaisella festaripäivällä on oma teemansa, jotka löydät alta.

17 Töiden jälkeen: HIAP Panel discussion / After Work: Designers Laura Spring and Elina Laitinen present and discuss their work done in the frame of the 2018 HIAP design residency program, in a panel discussion with Susanna Thiel (Design Museum), Juuso Tervo (Aalto University) and Martin Born (HIAP). Under the title ”Arranging Practice: Proximity, Distance, Instance” this year’s HIAP design residency examines how mediated and immediate contact of designers with spaces, materials or cooperators impact the process of creation, the artifact produced and, in extension, the idea of what design, the designer, and the object (product) of design is today.

A festival center will be built to Keskuskatu! HDW:s own media, Weekly, will host this location with daily themes and changing programme. You can meet the makers of Weekly, the finalists of Helsinki Design Awards! You can also buy tickets to PechaKucha Night and be the first to know of the best festival tips. As well as a Helsinki Design Awards Exhibition, the center includes a lunch pick-up point by chef Kozeen Shiwan. This is a part of the Design Delieverd project, see more here https://designdelivered.wolt.com/
Weekly’s Festival Center presents daily programme and you can follow the updates in this event page. There will be lunch talks (12pm daily) and after work lectures (5pm daily). There will also be Weekly Tips and inspiring encounters. All performances and presentations will be in English.
