Meet me at government agency
The Pasila government office complex is located at Opastinsilta 12, Helsinki. It is Finland’s largest shared government work environment.
The premises have undergone a comprehensive renovation to support working in a shared environment. The project made extensive use of existing resources; for instance, over 90 percent of the furniture is recycled.
The renovation prioritized the customer perspective. The service points, information areas, and waiting areas of the *Suomi-piste* service center are easily accessible. In addition, service advisors have been hired to support the customer experience and ease of use, providing guidance whenever needed. Energy and environmental efficiency have been improved through measures such as new heating, cooling, and lighting solutions. Accessibility has been taken into account throughout the building, ensuring clear and safe movement between spaces.
By the end of 2026, a total of 12 government agencies and institutions will be operating within this shared work environment at the Pasila complex. This transformation project is part of a nationwide reform of the government service and facility network, managed by the Ministry of Finance. Senate Properties is implementing similar shared work environments in a total of 18 locations by 2030.
The Pasila satellite event focuses on public sector customer interactions. Currently citizens are dealing with rather fragmented dealings across various service counters on each agency.
At the satellite-event, we will explore what it would look like if a single multidisciplinary team supported the customer throughout the entire process, while still upholding the customer's right to know exactly who they are dealing with and on what grounds when interacting with different government agencies.
Experts from Senate Properties and the Finnish Supervisory Agency will discuss the Suomi-piste service points recently completed at the Pasila government office complex, which brings services together at a single location for citizens.
