Exhibitions: Aalto Design, Escape to Moominvalley and Craft Punk
The Aalto Design – Shapes of Wellbeing exhibition invites visitors to explore Alvar, Aino and Elissa Aalto’s architecture and design from the perspective of wellbeing. The multidisciplinary exhibition boldly asks what these classics can contribute to contemporary discussions on the design of wellbeing.
The Escape to Moominvalley exhibition explores, in an unprecedented way, Tove Jansson’s and the Moomins’ relationship to architecture, the built environment, and design. It explores how Jansson perceived architecture and design in her own life and how these elements are reflected in the stories of Moominvalley.
Knitting artist Juha Vehmaanperä's fist solo exhibition Craft Punk brings together key works from recent years, material experiments and insights into the artist’s working process. Vehmaanperä's work focuses on slow fashion, queer theory and craft-based knowledge. Their projects combine traditional handcraft techniques with contemporary approaches and technologies.
