Covid-19
The Regional State Administrative Agency of Southern Finland has made a decision to tighten meeting restrictions. Consequently, Helsinki Design Week’s Main Event is cancelled. Helsinki Design Week will take place around the city and online 9–19 September 2021.
There are over 80 Companion Events and Satellite Events and they can be found here. Due to the pandemic, we exercise extreme caution in the festival production and want to make visiting the festival as safe as possible. We are keeping our eyes on official orders and guidelines regarding the Covid-19 situation as well as our festival partners, contributors and other participants up to date. Due to the new restrictions listed above, Helsinki Design Week main venue can’t be organized as planned and all of the Main events of Helsinki Design Week are cancelled excluding Children’s Design Week, which will take place as installations in the windows in the city center.

During Helsinki Design Week, there will be an opportunity to gather, keep in touch and share content online, too. Helsinki Design Weekly’s editorial team would love to hear news and story ideas from the design field. How to safely participate in Helsinki Design Week
We want to make your participation in the festival as safe as possible. You are welcome to attend our events if you are feeling healthy. If you are sick, please stay at home until you feel better. Please contact healthcare services if necessary.
Let’s maintain a healthy distance
Take up space for yourself and give space to others when moving about the HDW events, queueing or using other services. Please keep a safe distance, at least 2 meters. As the organizers, we’ll also keep our distance from you. We suggest the use of a face mask by anyone over the age of 12. Please notice the current guides by the Regional State Administrative Agency for Southern Finland.
Buy tickets in advance
We recommend that you buy the tickets in advance if possible so that the event organizer will have information of all the participants and can avoid contact at the door. Please read about the ticket information from the event pages.
Practice appropriate sanitation and hygiene
Please wash your hands properly and use hand sanitizer. Please sneeze and cough into a clean handkerchief and into your sleeve if necessary. Please do not touch the items on display or the installations. Avoid touching any surface if not absolutely necessary.
