Doodle is an exhibition that highlights sketching and coloring—the stages of creative work that often remain unseen. The works come directly from sketchbooks: ideas, outlines, and visual notes hand-colored with a spontaneous touch and printed onto plywood.

Sketch is a thing and way to capture a thought as a visual note that doesn’t need to be polished or perfect. It is enough that the idea emerges and is preserved. A sketch or idea is only an initial phase, the first step before a larger and more finished outcome. In this exhibition, coloring is not part of refinement but an essential way to shape and express the thought. The colors reveal what is often still forming.

Doodle celebrates the freedom of sketching, the joy of hands-on creation, and those moments when an idea is born alive, honest, and just as it is: noted down, unfinished, and sometimes a little messy.

The exhibition will be held at 2 Steps Gallery, which is run by the creative production company Duotone. Duotone specializes in photography, film work, and visual content production. The gallery is located in the heart of Helsinki at Eerikinkatu 48.
