Helsinki Playground Presents: Made in Japan – A Pop-Up Shop and Exhibition Helsinki Playground is proud to announce a special pop-up shop and exhibition dedicated to the artistry of Japanese craft. In collaboration with the Japanese brand Kijinokanosei, the Helsinki Playground showroom will debut an exclusive collection of handmade woollen blankets, rugs, and cushions. Expanding the dialogue between cultures, Helsinki Playground has also invited Tokyo-based creative director Nicolas Yuthanan Chalmeau (Yuthanan) to present a curated exhibition of Japanese ceramics, reinterpreted with a distinctive Finnish perspective. All items will be available for purchase. The opening event will take place on 6 September 2025, with both Kijinokanosei and Yuthanan attending from Tokyo. They will be joined by local community partners Café Clé and Baked by Soni, highlighting Helsinki Playground’s commitment to fostering cultural exchange and creative collaboration. Helsinki Playground exists to connect the dots and people past and present surrounding the creative capital of Finland. It is both a concept and an idea that comes to life through community-driven initiatives, lifestyle products, collaborations, events, and temporary physical spaces. Helsinki Playground is a playful space, a place to collaborate, learn, experiment, make friends, and have fun. Much like a real playground. Our ultimate goal is to share this spirit with the wider world and help position Helsinki and Finland as a leading cultural destination.
