Satellite event at IVANA HELSINKI house. A multi-sensory and intergenerational aesthetic design experience filled with the beauty of everyday life. Ivana Helsinki/Paola Suhonen and Myrskyryhmä are organizing an open event on Saturday (6th September). In this day-long event (approximately 2 pm to 10 pm), attendees will experience the magic of cinema, be captivated by the whirl of dance, and most importantly – encounter one another. The event will feature new films, fashion, and discussions about design.
Myrskyryhmä is an innovative Finnish dance group working in the field of participatory and inclusive art. Myrskyryhmä’s mission is to promote the cultural rights of seniors as participators and audiences. The activities of Myrskyryhmä include dance performances and artist residencies in care units, workshops for seniors and artists, and dance video projects with elderly people. Myrskyryhmä also provides training for nursing staff at care units. The Director of Myrskyryhmä is dance artist Elli Isokoski. Myrskyryhmä has been forerunner of this groundbreaking work since 2002 and currently considered one of the leading experts in their field.
