Particularly festive – a house party of design
Studio Viippola's "Particularly festive - a house party of design" exhibition is a study on celebrations around the common table. As a basis for the content a set of user interviews on ways of celebrating is conducted – asking why, where, how, etc. The focus is on people’s own narrative. As an analysis of the interviews an installation is made with the elements needed for celebrating.
The target of the installation is to make us think what unites us as humans, not what differentiates. It gives us a possibility to reflect on things that matter to us both on a personal and societal level. Celebrations are about joy and happiness and connection with others. In times on uncertainty hope comes from social interaction and joy.
The exhibition is held in the Arabia 135 block in a space that has an old ceramic kiln from the 19th century. The space isn’t open on a normal basis, so this exhibition is a rare opportunity to see the kiln. Entrance is from the courtyard of the red brick building facing Hämeentie.
Opening hours: 9.-14.9.2025 12:00-18:00.
