This is what PechaKucha Night looked like

PechaKucha Night gathered over 500 people to listen to the thoughts and visions by professionals from both creative and academic world.

PechaKucha Night gathered over 500 people to listen to the thoughts and visions by professionals from both creative and academic world.

Helsinki Design Week held yesterday the ever-popular PechaKucha Night in conjunction with the University of Helsinki.

This dynamic 20×20 concept breathes life into the art of speaking and presenting as professionals from across the creative sector and academia share their thoughts and visions. The night gathered 9 amazing speeches and over 500 visitors.

Originally created by Klein Dytham Architecture in Tokyo, PechaKucha is a simple presentation format where 20 images are shown, each for 20 seconds. As the images forward automatically and the speaker talks along with the images, there is no time for boring babble.

The speakers were:

Maria Ritola, Entrepreneur
Patrick Degerman, Explorer
Emilia Kilpua, Associate Professor in Space Physics
VILUNKI 3000, Graphic Designer of the Year 2017
Juhani Merimaa, Music Manager and Influencer
Marco Casagrande, Architect
Juhana Aunesluoma, Research Director of Network for European Studies
Kimmo Vehkalahti, Statistician
Jukka Kurttila, CEO of Finlayson
