The Design Market is the biggest design stock sale event in the Nordic countries. At Helsinki Design Week, it takes over the Cable Factory and provides the visitor an opportunity to make great finds among samples as well as products from previous seasons. Expect to find 200 high quality vendors and a Flower Market. The restaurant Loop will serve a delicious lunch made of ingredients that would otherwise go to waste.

Myiittala Vintage is a flea market for tableware friends! Iittala’s regular customers, the Myiittala community, gather together to sell old Arabia, Iittala, Hackman, Firskars and Röestrand tableware.

Throughout Helsinki Design Week, the Marimekko store in the Forum shopping centre houses a WST second-hand pop-up where you can find pre-owned Marimekko clothing from recent collections as well as gems from years or even decades back. You can also bring clothes that are in good condition from your own Marimekko wardrobe to the pop-up to be sold through WST.
Frames for Food opens the door to the home of the designer Leena Kouhia (Raaka Rå) and composer & musician Tapani Rinne (e.g. Rinneradio, Wimme & Rinne). In their city centre loft apartment, Leena Kouhia and Marianne Huotari (Studio smoo) will present and sell their unique ceramics, handcrafted for everyday use.
Minna Paussu Design women’s clothing brand pop-up store. Finnish print pattern and garment design. The brand is an ode to joyful, flirtatious, powerful and yet delicate femininity. The first collection builds on lightweight, printed, colourful, flirtatious and feminine pieces made of 100% silk.

CORUYA pop-up store
Little Market is part of Helsinki Design Weeks’ Children’s Weekend and is organized for the fourth time. The event gathers together interesting Finnish and international design brands to sell their new collections of children’s clothing designs and small interior items. This year the Little Market shows a lot of new brands and a launch of a new children’s design brand.

Take a shopping break and go see Daniel Rybakken present his new collection at the Artek Helsinki store.
Two new families of furniture and accessories by Norwegian designer Daniel Rybakken address the question of what it is to be a contemporary Artek product. The Kiila range of storage and seating and the 124° series of mirrors cleverly utilize systems of industrial manufacture in their making and explore the point at which art and technology converge. These new designs articulate key Artek philosophies in a fresh and original design language.
Tuesday 12 September
Arela, Natalia Ritari works and STUDIO smoo blend the borders of creativity by grabbing the same rope and tying clothing, art and design together. The respect towards sustainable and traditional working while not forgetting to adapt to the requirements of the current day motivated the trio to arrange an exhibition together.
From 7 till 16 September
Habitare, the largest furniture, design and interior decoration event in Finland, will be held at Messukeskus in Helsinki, from 13 to 17 September 2017. Habitare offers experiences and ideas on interior decoration, and on the functionality and look of homes and other spaces.
To be held concurrently with Habitare are the Antiikki antique event HighEnd Helsinki and the Showroom and Forma events for professionals.
