Ticket sales open for Helsinki Design Awards, the Finnish design gala

In September, Helsinki Design Awards will gather and celebrate the most prominent Finnish design influencers. Prizes will be given in five different categories: the Young Talent of the Year, the Product of the Year, Lifetime, Internationalization and Jury’s Choice.

The Gala will take place at the Clarion Hotel Helsinki on 12 September. This year’s visual appearance has been designed by Senior Designer Eero Heikkinen. Video production will be provided by production agency Siro Creative.

Previously known as Muoto Gala, this event has acknowledged Finnish designers and design products since 2011, and Helsinki Design Awards has been organized since 2016. Its aim remains the same: to award Finnish designers and companies investing in design. The public has had a chance to nominate the winners until the beginning of June.

The jury consists of curator and producer Hanna Harris; information designer, data journalist, non-fiction author and instructor Juuso Koponen; Master of Arts and industrial designer Petteri Kolinen; awarded designer Elina Aalto; and director of strategic initiatives at the City of Helsinki Sanna-Mari Jäntti. The chairman of the jury is Helsinki Design Week director Kari Korkman.
