Helsinki Design Week is starting to collect the most interesting design events for the upcoming festival. Join us in the making of the 2020 programme!

Planning to arrange an exhibition? An opening party? Are you producing a fashion show or opening the doors of your studio? Are you looking for participants to your workshop or panellists to a seminar? The event could also be a hackathon or a dinner – or something totally different.

Our event calendar will be created in cooperation with more than 150 event organizers. The community of event organizers is important to us. During the application and the curation process of the programme, we are still open to new collaboration opportunities. This year, we will give added support, if needed, to everyone co-organizing the festival with us, both for the first as well as for the 16th time. We have extended our communication services, and when necessary, we are able to produce photography, translations and invitations to opening parties, for example, for the organizers.

This year’s theme is Commitment Matters. Making a commitment to a cause is a proactive choice and most of all, an act. We are continuing the climate theme launched in 2019, and we will prove that Helsinki Design Week is committed to finding the best practices for an environmentally friendly festival. Moreover, we are committed to promoting design awareness long-term and at large, including after the festival.

Registration is earlier than before

We want to provide better service for all the organizers, and therefore we have set the Open Call registration date earlier compared to previous years. The sooner we know about the events, the better we can support the organizers and plan event communications.
