At the end of August 2026, Architecture & Design Museum Helsinki will open a new venue for events and public engagement at Eteläranta 6. Together with its partners, the museum will host a program of events in the space designed by Joanna Laajisto and invite residents to discuss the role and significance of architecture and design in the city. Throughout the construction of the New museum of Architecture and Design building, visitors will be able to follow the development of the area at Eteläranta 6. The event program will launch during Helsinki Design Week. The first public event at Eteläranta 6 will take place on Monday, 31 August 2026, from 4:00 to 5:00 pm. The talk event will be moderated by researcher and journalist Katja Lindroos. Joining the discussion will be Aleksi Neuvonen, researcher at Demos Helsinki, and Carson Chan, Chief Curator rand Director of Curatorial Affairs at Architecture & Design Museum Helsinki. Following the talk event, the public will have the opportunity to explore the space until 6:00 pm.
