Design Offline
Everyone is welcome at Design Offline. The venue is at street level and accessible for people with mobility impairments — while we don't have dedicated facilities, we are happy to assist with any thresholds or physical needs on arrival. The event will be held in English. If you have a visual impairment and would like assistance, please let us know in advance and we will make sure support is available. We are also mindful of sensory sensitivities and will do our best to create a comfortable environment for everyone. If you have any questions or needs, don't hesitate to reach out before the event — we want you to feel welcome.
Design Offline
A satellite event at Helsinki Design Week 2026
As our lives become increasingly shaped by screens, notifications, and digital routines, Design Offline asks how design can help us create more intentional ways of spending time, connecting with others, and being present and why protecting offline time is essential for our cognitive health, creative thinking, and mental restoration.
Design Offline is a three-day open studio programme during Helsinki Design Week, bringing together products, prototypes, workshops, and conversations around intentional offline moments. The programme recognises that uninterrupted time is not a luxury: it is a fundamental condition for deep focus, creative flow, cognitive recovery and for truly meeting each other.
The space invites visitors to discover and try tools, objects, and practices that support presence and creativity, and to explore how everyday habits, rituals, and designed environments can protect our cognitive resources making offline life not only possible, but desirable.
Hosted by Piilo and Re-Offline, the event creates a temporary meeting point for designers, creatives, educators, researchers, and curious minds interested in a more intentional relationship with technology and more meaningful ways of being together.
