Eteläranta 6’s first public event: panel discussion

At the end of August 2026, Architecture and Design Museum Helsinki will open a new space for events and public gathering at Eteläranta 6. Together with its partners, the museum will present a program of events in a space designed by Joanna Laajisto and invite residents and visitors to discuss the significance of architecture and design.
At Eteläranta 6, visitors can follow the development of the area throughout the construction of the New Museum of Architecture and Design. The event program Eteläranta 6 will launch during Helsinki Design Week.
Eteläranta 6's first public event: panel discussion
Monday, 31 August 2026, 4:00–5:00 PM
Following the discussion, visitors will have the opportunity to explore the space until 6:00 PM.
The first public event will bring together three experts who explore both the future and the past. They will discuss the role that a space and museum such as Eteläranta 6 can play as a forum for societal dialogue and, together with the audience, take an imaginative journey ten years into the future.
The discussion will be moderated by CEO and Urban Strategist Katja Lindroos. Joining her will be Aleksi Neuvonen, researcher at Demos Helsinki, and Carson Chan, Chief Curator responsible for content at the Museum of Architecture and Design. The discussion will be held in English.

Architecture and Design Museum Helsinki's new event space at Eteläranta 6 can be explored in greater depth with the guidance of an expert conversation host.
The host will be available to share insights into the history of the Eteläranta 6 space, located on the ground floor of an Art Nouveau building, the new museum project, selected collection objects on display, and the reference library of architect Juhani Pallasmaa, housed within the venue. This open event can be attended at any time. Visitors are welcome to engage in conversation with the guide in both Finnish and English.
