The Blau Moment
You are warmly welcome to enjoy Finnish design, art and live music at the Blau showroom in Eira!
The event is aimed at professionals in the interior design industry.
The music will be provided by saxophonist Jesse Vilhomaa, and the visual arts by ceramic artisan Teppo Honkala and painter Mirja Ilkka.
Accompanied by music, you can also admire the joint exhibition of ceramic artisan Teppo Honkala and visual artist Mirja Ilkka, where nature and the human experience are given profound expression. In this exhibition, craftsmanship and art merge, inviting the viewer to explore the depth and layers of both materials and the mind.
TEPPO HONKALA
Ceramics artisan Teppo Honkala is known for his unique functional and decorative pieces, which reflect his deep respect for traditional craftsmanship. He creates his works in his workshop in Klaukkala, using a kick wheel and wood-fired kiln he built himself. These tools give his creations a distinctive, lively texture and firing surface that embody the power of nature and earthy tones, inviting exploration of the materials’ true essence.
MIRJA ILKKA
Helsinki-based visual artist Mirja Ilkka draws inspiration from nature and the layers of life. Ilkka’s creative process involves gradually layering on canvas, creating a captivating depth in her works that invites.
The exhibition is open to everyone from 11–15 September, 2024, weekdays from 10 AM to 6 PM, and Saturday-Sunday from 10 AM to 5 PM.
