Glass is considered the first artificial material invented by humankind. And what material
could be better suited to carry one of our most profound innovations: fire.

Modern torches have evolved ever since, but our incessant fascination and need for light hasn’t changed. Designing a glass luminaire is an all-encompassing project for a designer, involving a surprising amount of steps to fit all the elements together to attain a beautiful illumination of a given space.

Our design group opens up creative, material and technical research work needed to produce innovative blown glass lights. Along with working prototypes, we let the visitors delve into sketches, 3D-print tests, plaster and steel molds and even the broken test pieces to give a deeper look into the whole process of what it takes to design a pendant, wall or a table lamp. The exhibition materials include photographs and a video.
