SAUNA FINLAND

The SAUNA FINLAND exhibition showcases the works of third-year textile design students at Metropolia University of Applied Sciences. The works were created on an international course.
The goal was to create a product or idea that resonates with Finnish sauna culture primarily for international target groups. The course aimed to develop and challenge one’s own creative thinking, and delved deeper into turning an idea into a design product. Design process was based on benchmarking, individual research and creative thinking. The goal was to tell about the Finnish sauna to someone visiting it for the first time.
The exhibition features students’ final works, as well as the process behind them. Every piece in the exhibition is an individual journey to different materials and techniques.
