Our Forest Workshop

Participants in this workshop are invited to create a three-dimensional forest by cutting leaves, plants and forest creatures out of translucent film. The jungle-like piece will be an artwork emerging as it is constructed. The installation, which will be made of colourful plexiglass walls, will begin as a bare forest in the spring and will grow into full bloom as the exhibition visitors add their own touches to the piece.

Re-Imagine Arabia – Plate Decoration Workshop

In this workshop, you can repaint an old Arabia plate with help from Laura Pehkonen, an accomplished Finnish visual artist who works mainly with unique ceramics.

“As an artist, I’ve always been interested in multiple layers, dimensions and stories. Variations in pattern and colour, as well as imperfections like cracks and scratches, inspire me. When was this plate made? What did it look like back then? Who owned it, held it, washed it – what was their home like? What were they thinking? This little plate has seen so much in its long history.”

Co-Design Story! – Design Tools for Creating Fiction

A storytelling workshop on how to create meaningful story worlds, plots, characters and scenarios for postliterary contexts. The event is aimed especially for writers, designers, game developers and writing enthusiasts.

“We think that stories are so important that it is time to understand how they can be designed. On our excursion to creative storytelling, we’re going to apply and create different design methods to help create meaningful fiction. Our focus will be on the question: how can co-creative methods support the creative process of writing professionals, storytellers and people interested in learning how to create fiction?”
