Lokal: Enchanted Forest
Satumetsä (Enchanted Forest) is a playful interpretation of traditional Finnish fairytales. This group exhibition combines textile and glass, photography, ceramics, art and design. Artists include Arni Aromaa, Klaus Haapaniemi, Sasha Huber & Petri Saarikko, Renata Jakowleff, Inka Kivalo, Ritva Kovalainen, Veera Kulju, Matias Liimatainen, Petteri Masalin, Lotta Mattila, Eri Shimatsuka, Kim Simonsson and Laura Väre.

Forum Box: Constructions
Visual artist Pia Sirén builds a temporary nature experience of 300 m2 in the Forum Box gallery. Constructed with aluminum scaffolding, tarps, plastic and temporary flooring, it takes us to lofty national park scenery. The space will include tracks and bridges to guide the visitors.

African Fashion Festival Helsinki
What labels independent African fashion? Organized for the first time in Helsinki, the African Fashion Festival provides African designers an opportunity to present their design style, a combination of urban street culture and traditional village clothing and respect of local religions.

Once again this festival fills the city with lights. The Lux Helsinki installations present a wide scale of light art, including ultraviolet graffiti, architectural manipulations using video art and topical social awareness. The festival route will take us through the Esplanade park to the Kasarmitori square ending up at the Senate Square.

Helsinki Contemporary: I can’t go on. I will go on.
Young Artist of the Year 2015 Ville Andersson uses various techniques from painting to photography. His exhibition called I can’t go on. I will go on. is an adaptation of the last tragicomical words of Samuel Beckett’s novel The Unnamable that can be interpreted as a mantra to symbolize human resilience.

CraftCorner: PISTOT
The PISTOT (”Stitches”) exhibition presents contemporary Finnish craft art and the results of handicrafts, creativity and visionary skills. The exhibits for the display coordinated by Taitoworld have been selected by visual and textile artist Ulla Pohjola. The exhibition includes works from 30 artists.

Architecture speaks!
Architects Juhani Pallasmaa and Peter Zumthor are the speakers of the Architecture speaks! lecture in January. Their topic is the current state of architecture. The lecture series in English is jointly organized by Aalto University and the Museum of Finnish Architecture.

Design Museum: Healing
The Healing exhibition addresses the ways in which architecture, design, material choices and technologies can impact recuperation and healing. It presents Finnish and Scandinavian design from the 1930s to the present day. The chronological span of the exhibition extends from history to the future as exhibits include samples of patient clothing from the new Children’s Hospital currently under construction in Helsinki.
