Helsinki’s design destinations on foot
Walking tours created in cooperation with Helsinki Design Week and Clarion Hotels Finland introduce the city’s architecture, museums and shopping opportunities.
The tours all start at the Clarion Hotel in Jätkäsaari, and each include ten destinations. However, they vary in length. The shortest is the Shopping Tour that circles the city centre, while the Architecture Tour adds up to a hike of 14 kilometres.
The tours were created for the first time in the spring of 2017, after which they have been updated to include new perspectives. The tour maps are an easy way to explore Helsinki for a few hours, to enliven one’s commute to work, for example.
Marketing coordinator at Clarion Hotels Finland Tuulia Hyvärinen says the maps are utilized every time that hotel customers ask what to do in or around Helsinki. People mostly ask for recommendations for shopping and museums.
“We are very pleased with the map. It’s a fine and concrete example of our successful service design and cooperation between Clarion and HDW. The map is still in use and in particular focus during this year’s HDW,” Hyvärinen explains.
