The opening exhibition presents two celebrated graphic designers, Aimo Katajamäki and Ilkka Kärkkäinen, who both have found a new media for their creative work.

In recent years, graphic designer Aimo Katajamäki (b. 1962) has become acknowledged for his wooden sculptures. Ilkka Kärkkäinen (b. 1960), graphic designer and art director, has found a new way of looking at his home town through the camera lens and via social media. Aimo Katajamäki’s wooden sculptures and city images by Ilkka Kärkkäinen bring contemporary life to the 100-year-old interior decor of architect Eliel Saarinen.

The large hall has been divided into three sections: the exhibition space, the stage area and a café. From 24 June onwards, it will be open from Monday to Friday from 9 am to 7 pm, with free entrance.

The curator of the exhibitions and operator of the hall is the design service agency behind Helsinki Design Week, Luovi Productions. More details on renting the space can be found here.
