Re-Think Re-Form is an exhibition and curatorial concept that examines contemporary design, art craft, and material-driven artistic practices from new perspectives.
Re-Think Re-Form creates space for works that are not defined solely as design, art, or craft, but can exist as one—or all—simultaneously. What connects the works is a deep understanding of materials, refined craftsmanship, and a carefully considered artistic process. The concept is based on exhibition-specific curating, where the chosen theme runs from one work to another, and the whole becomes more than the sum of its parts. Each individual work is thus always seen in relation to other works, the space, and the exhibition architecture.
The theme of the Re-Think Re-Form exhibition at Helsinki Design Week 2026 is WE. The exhibition explores design, craftsmanship, and artistic practice through the perspectives of collectivity and interaction. WE does not refer only to collaboration between the curated artists, but to a broader whole in which materials, processes, makers, users, exhibition architecture, and the environment are intertwined. Individual authorship does not disappear, but enters into dialogue with others—forming a space that becomes a shared whole. WE also emerges through encounter—through the interaction between the works, the space, and the viewer.
The venue is Primo Kitchen, a gallery-café located in the historic Lapinlahti hospital area. You can enjoy there perhaps the best artisan bread in Helsinki, alongside a curated selection of biodynamic wines.
The Re-Think Re-Form exhibition is curated by Piia Jalkanen, Anna Pirkola, Anniina Dundberg, Päivi Keski-Pomppu, and Susan Elo. The designers and artists of the exhibition will be announced later.
