Every year, there is a festival theme. The theme of 2024 is Underneath.

Helsinki Design Week is built together with our community of event organizers. Our multidisciplinary and international festival programme consists of Main Events as well as Partner Events and Satellite Events. All events can be found in the Programme page.

This year’s Main Venues are Paasivuorenkatu 3, Cable Factory, Aalto University’s Marsio building in Otaniemi and Habitare in Pasila.

There are over 100 events in the festival calendar and most of them are free for visitors. Please check the event pages carefully for more detailed information. Some of the events have limited audience numbers or require, by their very nature, that the organizer knows who will be participating. Separate tickets are sold for these events, and festival registration is required. Admission to most events is free. We do not accept registrations via email.
HDW Team only manages registrations to Main Events from which only the Design Diplomacy talks series require pre-registration. For the Open Studios event, pre-registration is desirable, but not mandatory.
