Helsinki Design Week takes place from 5 to 14 September 2025.
The programme consists of main events, as well as companion and satellite events. The cornerstone of Helsinki Design Week is multidisciplinary cooperation with design professionals and enthusiasts. Working together is important to us.

Open the doors to your studio!

Open Studios is one of Helsinki Design Week’s main events. Join us in opening the doors to the most inspiring workspaces!

All studios will be featured in HDW’s marketing communication channels, and we can offer broader visibility for Plus participants. You can choose the option that best suits your company. The event is free for visitors.

Open call for the festival programme!

Events selected through the open event search will become part of Helsinki Design Week’s official programme, and the events will be featured in Helsinki Design Week’s marketing channels. Organize an exhibtion, a fashion show or a guided walk, open the doors of your studio, or hold a service design workshop, for example. Since 2023, the diverse group of event organizers have been divided into non-profit and business. Prices are lower for non-profit organizations.

Design Market will take place at the Cable Factory.

Design Market is the biggest warehouse sale event in the Nordics, which traditionally starts the Helsinki Design Week festival on 6–7 September 2025. A carefully curated group of vendors showcases the designers and makers behind high-quality furniture, interior design, clothing and accessories.

Volunteer for the festival in August-September?

Helsinki Design Week is looking for volunteers to help us make the festival happen!

Are you a smooth customer servant or an enthusiastic exhibition guide with a love for design? Are you a social media native who knows their Instagram filters? Come join our team and get a behind the scenes view on how the Nordic’s biggest design festival comes together!

As a volunteer, you will have your shifts either before, during or after the festival. The total amount of the work shifts depends on the events you will be working at. You will receive more information about the events, the work tasks and shifts closer to the festival.
